Activities
Maa Santimoyee Human Awareness Welfare SocietyWomen Empowerment
Most of the women in our society do not get a proper environment for education. The girls from the backward classes of our country are married below 18 years of age which affects their biological functions including not being able to manage their underage pregnancy. They are not allowed to live their life in their own ways and are forced to do household work confined within the four walls at home and follow the orders of their husbands and in-laws.
Our organization provides education, self-defense training, and skill development training to these downtrodden women of our society. For skill development, we teach them handicrafts including pottery, handloom, stitching, etc, beautician courses, and basic computer courses to make them self-dependent so that they can initiate their own
start-up business or even apply for a suitable job. We believe that if a woman is educated she will be able to provide a good upbringing to her children morally and educationally.
Child Development
Most poverty-stricken children steal and beg others because their parents are financially unstable to look after them properly. Child labor is the most disturbing problem in our country, some of them are forced to work at an early age to make money.
The younger generation is the future asset of our country. For improving the conditions, our organization visits small slums or remote village areas and convinces their parents to give us the responsibilities to look after the education expenditures of their children. Our foundation provides them the opportunities to begin or continue their education in good government schools with all the basic facilities of books, and meals without any charges, to develop them mentally and physically.
Books Distribution Program
Most of the schools in slum areas don’t have a proper collection of updated books in their library and some don’t even have library facilities. They don’t have enough books to distribute among the children and so our foundation organizes book distribution programs at these schools. We provide them with books based on their syllabus and spread general awareness to make them aware of their rights to education and what power it holds for their future.
Blood Donation Camp
It feels very disappointing when a patient is in need of blood and there is not enough blood in the blood banks of both private and government hospitals. Some patients die due to a lack of blood and their relatives cry terribly because they are unable to do anything. To tackle this problem our team members organize blood donation camps 4-5 times a year to collect maximum blood from the donors and then supply it to the collaborated blood banks with the hope that nobody dies due to a lack of required blood to cure their disease.
During Covid19, nobody was coming forward to help the infected patients in fear of catching the virus, and so they died due to ignorance because people kept themselves away from the crowd including the
doctors and nurses. To spread a little hope in the time of crisis, we helped the patients as well as the hospitals by supplying adequate hospital beds and the highest units of blood i.e. almost 239 units.
Stop Drug Abuse
Nowadays the youths are addicted to drugs and smoking. Some of the common drugs are Cannabis, opiates, cocaine, etc. It badly affects the nerves and subconscious mind of a person. When people consume these kinds of drugs they lose their conscience. If they continue this for a long period of time they feel anxious and start hallucinating where they believe that they are living in another world.
Our main goal is to make people aware of the disadvantages of consuming drugs and how they can destroy the life of a human being. Our team organizes Drug abuse awareness camps. We get them admitted to a drug rehabilitation center so that they can live like a normal person.
Covid19 Relief Work
- 1st Lockdown
No Race/No Competition/No Politics, Only Humanity.
Covid19 pandemic came to India in March 2020. Lockdown was announced worldwide. Everybody had to stay at home. Most people lost their jobs. At times, many people didn’t have the favorable financial condition to survive their daily necessities, and no. of Covid 19 patients were increasing. Due to the uncontrollable growth of the viral infection, we’ve witnessed how the poor and migrant workers suffered through. They were strictly prohibited to go back home and it resulted in a trap with no escape and no food. They had to walk miles with the hope that they’ll be able to see their families and so we couldn’t sit back and relax, with our best possible efforts we were able to locate them and provide homemade food and medicines.
Even our organization provided continuous dinner for 72 days with the thought that just a day is never enough in fact fame, recognitions and pictures are nothing in front of the exceptional love and blessings that the receivers shower wholeheartedly. In addition, to honor and help our respected doctors we supplied special PPE for them. We gave roses to the heroes of our country including doctors, nurses, and helpers i.e, to the entire hospital staff because without them our country would have gone to a dark time. Aware of the disastrous management or repetitive failed attempts by our government executives, we took the initiative to distribute 15 days of continuous rations, to an estimated 126 needy families and further extended the services for another 15 days. We’ve served more than five hundred thirty people at a time every day at night without a single day failed as token of love the home maid food at dinner. At the end “WE FOUGHT WITH CORONA IN DAY AND NIGHT”.
- 2nd Lockdown
For critical patients, we also arranged free ambulance services and donated oxygen cylinders to their respective residents during the crisis. Their daily needs like medicines and water are provided completely charge less by us as well. We also provided 56 days of continuous food distribution services prominently breakfast, lunch and dinner every day to the infected patients as we were concerned with their survival. Our organization started sharing homemade food packages as a token of love to the needy and quarantined people as we were concerned that if not us then who will, we believed that we were sent by the almighty specifically to embrace their pain in our hearts and help them to overcome that battle of life.
Hope for the Physically Challenged
We are believers in equality and so we dream of creating equilibrium among different segments of our society, whether it’s about the deprived sections or the specially-abled sections. It breaks our hearts to see these exceptionally special children mentally suffer from societal stereotypes.
If nothing else, our organization tries to support these beautiful children with wheelchairs, tricycle, special games and activities to boost their learning interests, and so on as a token of love.
The smiles we behold close to the treasures of our hearts, we’ll never let them fade away because they’re the shining stars we love to cherish for an eternity.
Food Distribution
During the pandemic era, we’ve worked tirelessly to help as many people as we can. We used to distribute food day and night, especially to the infected families, with the thought that if the feeder gets ill, then who’s going to cover up the spot? So we decided to be the partial peacemaker and ensure that no one sleeps in hunger. Though we didn’t click pictures of everything we do for the sake of humanity, and we are the believers of karma that lies in our honesty and pure intentions. So we work to reduce the pain a little bit instead of making it our selfish desire to be flattered by strangers.
Clothes Distribution
We all have witnessed the destitute lying barely in helplessness, with no clothes to protect them, nothing edible to help them stay healthy, they perish in pain with all the buried longings in their hearts and a million dreams left unexpressed inside their unexplored mysterious mind.
We feel the biggest purpose of our life is humanity, that’s what our ultimate identity is, “we are human beings and only primates with complex emotional intelligence.” Our beloved members have distributed thousands (still counting) of suitable clothes and warm blankets to everyone from infants to old aged people prominently on the 1st day of January and before the initiation of Durga Puja to these unfortunates. And what we got in return? Their unconditional love and smile to cherish forever.
